It is World Mental Health Awareness Day and I thought it was befitting to post this here. Did you know that stress is a huge contributor to both physical and mental unwellness? It is also a predictor and risk factor for developing a mental illness. Stress affects people of all ages, from young kids to adults and it can impact your life in major ways, from school to work to even relationships. These are some tips you can try to help combat stress!

Remember, there are ways to get better and people to reach out to! Stress and mental illness don't need to rule your life, they can be managed successfully with time and dedication :)

I have anxiety, but my mom refuses to get a councilor, and when I bring it up she always gets upset...but I'll remember the rest of these..thank you TuT. It's not my only mental health problem, but it's the biggest one for me, and i have attacks at least once a day, and I hate it...

@Angel: Oh sweet, I'm so sorry. There's just so much prejudice yet against mental health problems, even though people are getting more open minded about it. Your mom probably doesn't want to label you as "crazy", which is a completely wrong vision of what a mental issue is. It's a illness, just as any other. And, as such, there's treatment and there's help. I hope you can get better soon! Don't feel like you're alone on this. There's a lot of people out there that know what it is like to pass through what you are experiencing. You can always talk to someone that will understand you.
